De acordo com a Nikkei a Apple iniciou negociações com os maiores fabricantes de ecrãs a nível mundial: a LG e a Samsung, em dezembro do passado ano. No âmbito deste diálogo está a aquisição por parte da Apple de ecrãs com tecnologia OLED com vista a poder enquadrá-los no novo iPhone 7.
Entre outras vantagens, estes novos ecrãs OLED, para além de serem mais finos, proporcionarão aos utilizadores uma experiência visual mais rica com cores mais vibrantes em comparação com os atuais ecrãs LED.
